HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth novel of the series written by J.K. Rowling and published by Bloomsbury on June 2003. The Order of the Phoenix is the longest of the series and as said by Stephen Fry “Heavier than a refrigerator” (that’s true!).

SYNOPSIS: Harry is in his fifth year at Hogwarts School as the adventures continue. There is a door at the end of a silent corridor. And it’s haunting Harry’s dreams. Why else would he be waking in the middle of the night, screaming in terror? Harry has a lot on his mind for this, his fifth year at Hogwarts: a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with a personality like poisoned honey; a big surprise on the Gryffindor Quidditch team; and the looming terror of the Ordinary Wizarding Level exams.
But all these things pale next to the growing threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, one that neither the magical government nor the authorities at Hogwarts can stop. As the grasp of darkness tightens, Harry must discover the true depth and strength of his friends, the importance of boundless loyalty, and the shocking price of unbearable sacrifice. His fate depends on them all. The book that took the world by storm. In his fifth year at Hogwarts, Harry faces challenges at every turn, from the dark threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and the unreliability of the government of the magical world to the rise of Ron Weasley as the Keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Along the way he learns about the strength of his friends, the fierceness of his enemies, and the meaning of sacrifice.
REVIEW: So, this is the longest and the heavier of the series, but also the start of the pain for me. *SPOILER Why did she kill Sirius? Really, I was totally upset, it was my favourite character, so many tears!
But let’s start from the beginning with Dudley demented. Maybe you have hated him from the first line of the book, but I think that even if it has deserved it, it was too much for him. But thankfully to his famous cousin he’s alive, no worries!
Apart from this cold (can we say it or it’s too mean?) start for Dudley, the book is plenty of adventures, pain, new characters and a lot of leaps in the past.
Harry who saved his cousin from dementors is now in trouble for performing a Patronus Charm in front of a Muggle, but don’t worry, everything would be okay (they say..). He’s saved by part of the Order of the Phoenix, a sort of secret society who fight Lord Voldemort from his first appearance, and taken to Number Twelve Grimmauld Place, the Order headquarters and also Sirius Black parent’s house.
Here we can read a long leap into Harry’s godfather past and we gain also new informations of Harry’s parents and of the Wizarding family.
This book is more focused on the mood and the psychological profile of characters, but most of all of Harry’s.
A new professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts arrive at Hogwarts, but she’s not as the others. Dolores Jane Umbridge refuses to teach real defence methods and there won’t be any spells, only learning Ministry-approved theory.
But thanks to Hermione, Harry starts to teach his schoolmate in the Room of Requirements, new spells, how to cast a Patronus Charm and they take the name of Dumbledores Army. Some of his schoolmates don’t trust him on the return of Lord Voldemort, so he feels too many time in the book really isolated.
New characters are introduced, such as Luna Lovegood, the weirdo Ravenclaw’s girl.Such an amazing character she is, one of the best I have to say. She knows that she can be strange at the others eyes, but she always be herself, all the times, that is something I really admire of her.
I always forget about Neville, but guys, this boy has grown up so much, and if it wouldn’t be for him, Luna and Ginny, there would be no happy ending! He’s such a brave guy with a very sad story. Harry has lost his parents, but also Neville did.
Ron and Hermione are named pprefects.The fifth year, it’s the one where they have also to focuse on: O.W.L.’s and Career Advice sessions to help determine what classes they’ll need to take next year for their N.E.W.T.’s.
Full of task and reponsibilities, the dream of the long corridor continues to affect Harry’s mind.The Department of Mysteries and the prophecy are the solutions of Harry’s dream. But not only him would be injured for this close relation between his and Lord Voldemort’s mind. Also Mr. Weasley, before Sirius, has been injured by this dreams, while he was at the Department of Mysteries has been attacked by Lord Voldemort, but he’s saved by Harry’s dream.So at Christmas, they go to St Mungo Hospital, where there’s this scene of Neville’s parents and you start tearing so much!
To solve the mind relation problem, Harry starts some lessons of Occlumancy with Snape, but nothing is gonna be okay at this time.
What to say, the final for me was very sad and painful, I really personify my self with Harry. But let’s be cheerful, he will always be in Harry and ours heart!
Do we have to talk about the duel between Harry and Voldemort?! Not all day you can read such things!

Despite Sirius death and a lot of thing that really affects me, I’m reevaluating this book. Always fluent and with good descriptions. She’s not going to upset you with her books!
