HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE

SYNOPSIS: It’s the middle of the summer, but there’s an unseasonal mist pressing against the windowpanes. Harry is waiting in his room at Privet Drive for a visit from Professor Dumbledore. What’s going on that cannot wait until his return at Hogwarts?

Lord Voldemort is back. Wizards, witches and muggles are dying. The war is back on. Besides all the strange situation that nor the Ministry of Magic neither the Order of the Phoenix can fix, Harry and his friends return at Hogwarts for their sixth year.

 REVIEW:

The Half Blood Princed starts with the meeting between the Prime Minister of Muggles and the Minister of Magic Scrimgeour. Something odd is happening after Lord Voldemort returns and its affecting not only the Wizarding World but also the Muggle one.

But also at Spinner’s End, miles from the Prime Minister, something strange is happening. A glorious, but very difficult task has been assigned to Draco from the Dark Lord. Instead of let failing his son, Narcissa goes to Snape and with the witness of Bellatrix, Snape makes the Unbreakable Vow, magically binding him to aid Draco in his first mission.

Dumbledore goes at Privet Drive to talk to Dursley’s and to read the last will of Sirius. Then he takes Harry with him. After convincing  Slughorn to return at Hogwarts as the Potion teacher, Dumbledore leaves Harry at the Burrow.

After the least attack, even Diagon Alley is dark and deserted, the only things that cheer the way is Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, Fred and George’s successful joke shop. 

“WHY ARE YOU WORRYING ABOUT YOU-KNOW-WHO? YOU SHOULD BE WORRYING ABOUT U-NO-POO – THE CONSTIPATION SENSATION THAT’S GRIPPING THE NATION!“

Really, who doesn’t want to go in to this fantastic paradise of jokes? Oh those twins!They got brilliant ideas! Meanwhile this moments of terror, only joke and laugh can win!

They also spot twice Draco, in suspicious way. Is something happening? Oh yes my fellow readers! Do you remember about the Unbreakable Vow?

At Hogwarts, like always, something has changed. We got a new Potion professor, Horace Slughorn, that organizes the famous Slug Club.  During the potion classes Harry found a book that belonged to the Half Blood Prince contains a large number of shortcuts on making various potions,thanks to it he becomes the head of the class and win the famous Felix Felicis (having this sometimes could really help!).

As promised, Dumbledore starts some private lesson with Harry about Lord Voldemort’s past. During this lessons, he shows to Harry his memory about Tom Riddle and his family, all memories that Dumbledore found. But Dumbledore also wants that Harry becomes the favourite of Slughorn, who has a special memorie about the young Tom Riddle.

The Quidditch Gryffondor Captain, Harry, has to select the new team for the year. Ginny and Ron (with the help of Hermione).With his growing fame, Ron starts dating Lavanda Brown and this really affects his relation with Hermione and the feelings that Harry feels for Ginny, become a theme always in his minds.

 But something odd is happening, Katy Bell has been cursed after touching a necklace, originally meant for Dumbledore,and Harry accuses Draco of it. ron consumes Chocolate Cauldrons containing love potion, but Slughorn instead of giving the antidote, gives him something to drink originally meant for Dumbledore, only thanks to Harry that with a bezoar saves his friend’s life. (that’s real friendship!). Draco  continues to have a strange  behavior.

Arogog die (poor acromantula and poor Hagrid! But the scene is sad and memorable at the same time). Finally Harry, with the help of Felix Felicis, convinces Slughorn to give him the memorie of Tom Riddle, and with Dumbledore they finally are aware of Horcruxes.

Harry and Dumbledore start together their search for Horcruxes and they reach a cave, where Tom usually go when he was young. Here they find a basin with the Slytherin locket, but Dumbledore has to drink all the potion (that’s heartbreaking also in the film). After the attack of the Inferi, Harry is saved by the professor and they return at the Astronomy Tower. After having been paralized under his Invisibility Cloack, Harry assists to the death of Dumbledore killed by Snape. After this there’s a duel between Snape and Harry, and the boy finds out that Snape is the Half Blood Prince, but he’s able to escape.

Harry finds out that the locket was a fake. Finally Dumbledore is buried at Hogwarts and there’s this heartbreaking Fawkes lament. The trio finally decide to start their searching for horcruxes.

So, forgive me for the very long things, today I don’t know what to say. But here we are. The Half Blood Prince is a unit of sadness, adventures, clues and duel.

Plenty of adventures and news. Finally we got some answers, but not all you can think it’s right! Just saying!
